While Toyota is being interrogated in the courts, after their recent recall, others may be getting off the hook with the court systems. Toyota’s recall might just be the factor that determines between the guilty and the innocent, the free, and the imprisoned.
Recently Toyota has recalled nearly 8.5 million vehicles that pose a threat of uncontrollable acceleration, as the acceleration pedal has been known to become stuck in the wide open position. The company has identified that there are two problems at stake, a problem with the floor mats interfering …
As many were unaware, last week there was a recall on beef. After speaking with Karen Smith, the recall in and always was under control. For precautionary measures, all the beef that the school possessed was removed, yet none of the meat and GBHS had any of the containments that the recall was based off of.
“I really didn’t even know that they recalled the beef,” said senior James Freeman. “It is a good thing that none of the meat here was contaminated though.”
According to the USDA, the recall was in …
Does learning have to be done in the classroom using a book? According to English teacher James Stuck it doesn’t. On Feb. 24 and 25 he tried out a new way of applying what his students read in the book Ender’s Game by Orson Scott Card. His first and third hour Honors English 10 classes participated in a nerf war, using strategies they got from the book.
Each battle was between two teams, each started out at a “gate” at opposite ends of the gym. When they were told to go, …
Vampire Weekend’s latest album Contra, released in January is a reigning success. Surpassing their first album in ratings, Contra has been within the Top 5 spot on Australian, Canadian, French, United Kingdom, Irish, and United States charts.
The self titled debut album was a hard act to follow, but the success it brought made the anticipation for Contra worth the wait. Absolutely whimsical is a perfect way to label it; all the songs have a light upbeat feel to them.
In comparison to the first album, the songs aren’t quite as forceful. …

Mass Effect 2
By: Dylan Page
It is Bioware’s crown jewel in the years to come. For those who don’t know, Bioware is the company that developed Mass Effect 1 and 2. They also created the Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic series, Dragon Age: Origins, and other well-known games. They have been hard at work over the past few years tweaking and changing features and details that plagued Mass Effect 1.
I have to say, they deserve a lot of credit for this new addition …
In the thrilling remake of George Romero’s original, 2010’s The Crazies surprisingly and ironically blew my mind. One by one, residents of a small town began to loose their minds and became mysteriously crazy, to say the least. Attacking family members and complete strangers for no apparent reason turned the first small problem into an international issue. The new problem was not only trying to escape the blood-thirsty murderers, but now having to flee the government’s internment facility. This thrilling film will have you at the edge of your seat …
Members of the Grand Blanc area were given an opportunity to meet the man who hopes to be Michigan’s next governor, Rick Snyder, last Monday night. Snyder’s team sponsored a meet-and-greet event at Brickstreet Grill on Grand Blanc Road. The event was free and gave local citizens an opportunity to hear Snyder’s pitch and ask him questions.
Snyder started the event by talking about his “10-point plan” to reinvent Michigan, which basically consisted of creating jobs and fixing the “broken government” in Lansing.
Goodrich senior Tyler Owen attended the event and said, …
It seems often when Dr. Hammond speaks, she talks about Grand Blanc’s levels of diversity. I can only speak for myself when I look around for this racial and ethnic potpourri, and see lot more white faces than advertised.
“Is Grand Blanc diverse enough?” is the question, but how diverse is “diverse enough?”
I have friends at other local high schools that talk about the one or two black people they know and it always seems absurd to me, as it would for most Grand Blanc High School students, I imagine. Maybe …
If you can put up with profanity and would enjoy watching an on-screen bromance, then Kevin Smith’s Cop Out is for you.
An unlikely pairing, Jimmy(Bruce Willis) and Paul(Tracy Morgan) are very close partners in the New York Police Department. The movie starts off setting the basis for their “bromance” with Paul giving Jimmy a greeting card to celebrate their ninth anniversary being partners in crime.
The film quickly moves from this tender moment to a harsh, yet comical, interrogation of a Mexican involved in a drug trade. After getting the information …
