Although the girls’ swim and dive team endure difficult morning and afternoon practices and refrain from shaving their legs for Homecoming; it all paid off the weekend of Sep. 26 at Counties. Swimming to victory, the team beat Fenton, who got second place, by approximately 300 points.
“I don’t have a social life during swim season,” said junior Lauren Baywol who earned first in the 100 yard breast stroke, “When I’m not swimming or at school, I’m doing my homework or sleeping!”

Dying for the sport

Before Big 9, the boys’ swimming team gets together to bleach and dye their hair, which they only keep for one day. Then, around two days before Big 9, they get together and shave it; it’s mostly the upperclassmen attacking the hair of the underclassmen.
