For 13 long years we have been counting down the days, marking them off our calendars, and praying that the time will fly by to the day we graduate. We are now less than a week away from that happening.

Another new policy is about to hit the halls of GBHS. This one has nothing to do with cell phones or library usage. The next big change is weighted grades.
This new grading system will apply to all AP courses. According to Dr. Jennifer Hammond this is because “some students would not select an AP course [in order] to protect their grade point average.”

Taking Steps Against Cancer

Relay for Life honors cancer victims, searches for cure
Every year, the American Cancer Society (ACS), honors cancer survivors and cancer victims at the Relay for Life.
“It’s a wonderful organization that raises quite a bit of money for cancer research and prevention,” said team captain, Allyson Stanley.
At the event, teams from different sponsorships have fundraisers to raise money for the ACS, and camp out for a night to raise awareness on the fatal disease. This year, Grand Blanc High School has team of its own. The event will take …

Choir goes to states

Everyone likes to have pride in his or her school, and they like to have a reason to hold that pride. NEWSFLASH! Grand Blanc High School just got a brand new reason to have a lot of pride, and this pride comes from the choir department. It just so happens that this year, as well as last year; Chorale and Girls’ Glee Club each received a “one” at districts (which is the highest score you can get, outside of the superior rating) and were able to move on to States.

With flowers blossoming and warm weather arriving comes students’ favorite spring sports. Of the numerous students polled, they had a choice to make as to which of the assorted spring sports is their favorite.
With the difficult choice of soccer, baseball, softball, tennis, lacrosse, track, and golf, the 200 students had a tough decision at their hands and the most favorite spring sport with a 40 percent win over all is soccer. Canning the competition: Grand Blanc battles for the top number of cans

“It was really early, but I love going to things for the school because they are a lot of fun,” junior AJ Shemes said.
