The girls’ varsity soccer program has a rich tradition, winning numerous district titles, regional championships, and even reaching the state finals in 2004.
One trophy however has been missing from their trophy case the last two seasons: the Big Nine Champions. The Lady Cats have succumbed to rival Powers the last two seasons placing second in the conference standings.
“You never want to lose the Big Nine obviously,” said senior captain Julia Roberts, who is also a four year varsity member. “It’s even worse though when your rival beats you.”

Girls’ soccer blanks Carman-Ainsworth

Last Thursday, the girls’ varsity soccer team shutout the Cavaliers 4-0 at Carman-Ainsworth. Katie Anderson scored twice, while Dani Rau and Kelsey Oskey each had a goal to power the Bobcats on to victory. Grand Blanc improved to 9-1-3 on the season.

The weather bordered on miserable, but the game had to go on. Never mind the severe weather alert, the Lady Bobcats played soccer.
The girls’ varsity soccer team ignored the chill and drizzle, appearing to attack the seemingly lethargic Carman-Ainsworth team on Monday, April 27. Perhaps the girls found their enthusiasm from the shouts of the thin, yet energetic and opinionated, crowd, which seemed at no lose to offer helpful suggestions from their umbrella-protected perches.
