Students from Steve Barker’s Studio Art class volunteered to represent GBHS at this year’s ice sculpting competition in Frankenmuth. Seniors Rebecca Thresher, Kaitlynn Brasher, Ariele Harris, and junior Jessica Kallie, with sophomore back-up Jin Kwag. They showed their determination and all had to leave right after school and carve the sculpture during the last days of midterms for the competition. “Our ice sculpture, actually made from snow, starts as an 8-foot tall and 6-foot wide and deep snow block,” Barker explained.
