It is Bioware’s crown jewel in the years to come. For those who don’t know, Bioware is the company that developed Mass Effect 1 and 2. They also created the Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic series, Dragon Age: Origins, and other well-known games. They have been hard at work over the past few years tweaking and changing features and details that plagued Mass Effect 1.
I have to say, they deserve a lot of credit for this new addition to the Mass Effect trilogy. Did I say trilogy? Well …

Vampire Weekend’s latest album Contra, released in January is a reigning success. Surpassing their first album in ratings, Contra has been within the Top 5 spot on Australian, Canadian, French, United Kingdom, Irish, and United States charts.
The self titled debut album was a hard act to follow, but the success it brought made the anticipation for Contra worth the wait. Absolutely whimsical is a perfect way to label it; all the songs have a light upbeat feel to them.
In comparison to the first album, the songs aren’t quite as forceful. …

In the thrilling remake of George Romero’s original, 2010’s The Crazies surprisingly and ironically blew my mind. One by one, residents of a small town began to loose their minds and became mysteriously crazy, to say the least. Attacking family members and complete strangers for no apparent reason turned the first small problem into an international issue. The new problem was not only trying to escape the blood-thirsty murderers, but now having to flee the government’s internment facility. This thrilling film will have you at the edge of your seat …

If you can put up with profanity and would enjoy watching an on-screen bromance, then Kevin Smith’s Cop Out is for you.
An unlikely pairing, Jimmy(Bruce Willis) and Paul(Tracy Morgan) are very close partners in the New York Police Department. The movie starts off setting the basis for their “bromance” with Paul giving Jimmy a greeting card to celebrate their ninth anniversary being partners in crime.
The film quickly moves from this tender moment to a harsh, yet comical, interrogation of a Mexican involved in a drug trade. After getting the information …

I am particularly fond of birthday celebrations. This past Friday was a birthday that I, and I’m assuming most of Grand Blanc, unfortunately missed. It was Ed Banger Record’s seventh birthday party, an event that took New York by storm and raged through the night.
Ed Banger is home to French electronic acts such as house music kings Justice, underground hip-hop rebel Uffie, SebastiAn, DJ Mehdi, the talented musician / artist So Me, and the founder, the near-god himself, Pedro Winter (who goes under the alias Busy P.)
I could go on …

When the curtain rises, the audience immediately focuses their attention on the stage actors. While taking occasional glances at the scenery and props around the actors, no one really stops and takes the time to think about what must go on behind the scenes in order for this play to take place.
The dedicated students behind the remarkable and intricate sets and props used on stage are compliments of the Technical Theater class. This group of students takes this course sixth hour with drama teacher Denise Botzki. With little to no …

C.D. Payne’s novel took over 16 years to make it to the big screen. Even with all that time, the film’s creators were unable to capture the true essence of the novel. The film adaptation of Youth in Revolt chopped huge chunks out of a brilliantly written book in favor of a more precise storyline.
The novel is comprised of the journals of a 14-year-old boy named Nick Twisp, played by a 21-year-old Michael Cera in the film, who avidly desires to shed all aspects of his youth. The reader is …

Television may never be the same: Oprah Winfery is calling it quits. After 25 years the iconic talk show host will be turning the lights out on her daytime talk show in September of 2011. American Television will also be saying goodbye to the Tyra Banks show. After five seasons the model turned talk show host will end her award winning show. However, the country seems to be grieving, not over Oprah or Tyra, but over Simon Cowell’s announcement that after this season he will be exiting from the …

Rumors fuel fears, and fears roll over our nation’s news networks until one is left more confused than they started and has to discern the facts from the falsities on their own. This is much the case with the H1N1 vaccine that is being used nation wide to prevent the sickness.
Despite the confusion, hundreds of parents took their children to the West Campus on Nov. 24 to get them vaccinated.
The vaccine comes as an injection or a nasal spray and the guidelines for who gets which depend mostly on …

Asher Roth appeared in Flint, Mich. on Nov. 19 at The Whiting. Known for the hit song “College,” he may have many fans, but that night the auditorium was pretty empty; it holds around 2,000 people, but only 200 or so showed, a very small crowd for a rap artist.
Stereotypes would suggest that more people would have been there, considering it’s a rap concert in Flint. Maybe Asher Roth isn’t considered a rapper. Just because he pretty much talks his lyrics as opposed to actually singing on most of his …
