Student letter brings up bias in speaker’s words

Letter to the Editor
By Matthew Joyner
As a member of the Grand Blanc Community, and High School student I have always found that the speakers that present their oratory to Grand Blanc High School students are usually very impressive.  Mr. Lookadoo was an exception to this trend.  The level of sentiment afterwards was the equivalent to knowing that something is wrong with a close friend, despite denial.  Something did not feel right, and it felt as though something was very wrong about the whole situation.  Some people, I found, were filled …

Grand Blanc High School teacher goes to Africa

[singlepic id=7 w=320 h=240 mode=watermark float=left]Although it was at 5 a.m. the turnout for the Can Drive of the Food Bank of Eastern Michigan was great. As students piled in, they got ready by painting their faces and wearing school colors.
“It was really early, but I love going to things for the school because they are a lot of fun,” junior AJ Shemes said.
The students filled the middle of the home section bleachers in the gymnasium. Most came mainly to get on the news since ABC12 was there for Spirit …

Michigan goes hog wild: Feral swine infest state and threaten ecosystem

As if our state doesn’t have enough problems. According to recent reports, our shrinking job market and ailing industries are being joined by yet another crisis: feral swine.
Feral swine are what happen when well-behaved domestic hogs escape and get to spend a little time getting back to their roots. In only a few months in the wild, a once tame pig, domesticated within the restraints of the farm or game ranch, can devolve back to a wild state.
