Readers may be happy to see that Mitch Albom has returned to his roots of nonfiction. The sometimes sports writer has not written non fiction since one of his most well knows works, Tuesdays with Morrie. He returns to the style with flying colors, creating a very satisfying non fiction novel.
The writing style that has made Albom’s books so well received in the past is just as personal and touching as it has ever been. Albom tells the story with such ease and precision, sucking the reader in. Albom has a true talent for writing such compelling and life changing books in a condensed and quick paced fashion, leaving his readers feeling full of emotion and love.
Have a Little Faith follows the stories of two men who Albom knew personally. One is a rabbi approaching death, the other a young pastor who is a reformed drug addict. The stories follow the two men in their astounding lives as they use faith to get through difficult situations. The rabbi uses his faith to prepare for death, while the young pastor uses his faith to get his life back in order.
Albom takes his readers on an emotional journey with the two men, one full of hardship, death, and tragedy. In the end, Albom instills in his readers a very important lesson, as he finally understands the two men in their own lives. Albom and his readers come to realize that no matter how different an individual, faith is faith, and it is something beautiful we all possess.
Have a Little Faith is a story about life. It is a story about believing in something greater than you and finding the way to overcome challenges. We may not be a dying Rabi or a pastor who battles with drugs, but we can all relate that the general message of the book.
