‘500 days of summer’ soundtrack good any time of year

sumemr !In the film (500) Days of Summer, music is essential to the story line. It puts the listener right there in the scene. In fact, every meaningful moment is accompanied by a song, showing its importance. After all, the “somewhat” couple Tom and Summer have their first moment in an elevator discovering their equal passion for The Smiths.

Also, the songs let the viewers feel and connect with what the characters feel. After the first night Tom spends with Summer, he is on his way to work while Hall & Oats’ “You Make My Dreams,” plays and the whole town joins him in song and dance, you cannot help completely relating to that exciting feeling.

The soundtrack features a wide variety of songs from old like “Bookends” by Simon and Garfunkel, to new such as She & Him’s cover of The Smiths “Please, Please Please, Let Me Get What I Want.” Each song expresses every emotion you feel as you are watching the film. Regina Spektor’s lighthearted tone in “Us” would satisfy any hopeless romantic. This soundtrack also contains everything from upbeat songs like Wolfmothers “Vagabond,” to Carla Bruni’s goose bump-giving, “Quelqu’un M’a Dit.”
“Sweet Disposition” by The Temper Trap is an amazing song to fit the not so typical love story mood throughout the entire movie. The plot of (500) Days of Summer rests upon up and down emotions, being carefree, feeling young and in love, and dealing with heartbreak.

Each moment is captured by a great song fitting the scene perfectly, you really can’t go wrong purchasing this soundtrack, and just about anyone can relate to it in some aspect.
